When most people think of Halloween, images of vampires, ghosts, witches, undead zombies and monsters immediately spring to mind. From bedtime stories about Dracula to teen T.V shows like Buffy, things that go bump in the night have always held an interest with the imaginative and young at heart.

Dressing as a vampire need not mean wearing an old sheet as a cape and making fangs out of a cereal box. These days it’s possible to buy realistic vampire teeth made from rubber and plastic, similar to movie props. Using tomato ketchup as blood is also a thing of the past, as imitation vampire blood can be bought in small capsules. While count Dracula and vampires are sometimes thought of as masculine, ladies don’t need to worry. There are a huge range of vampire outfits made especially for women; indeed female vampire or “vampiress” costumes are widely available and extremely popular. One of the biggest Halloween trends for women are sexy vampiress costumes which, when paired with fangs, are sure to draw in unsuspecting prey.
